Marquette: About twice the size of Alpena, Marquette is located on the southern shores of Lake Superior, which is the largest freshwater lake in the world. The city is on the upper peninsula of Michigan and is the only doppler radar station Michigan has in the area. Because of its northern location right along the lake, this city sees a lot of snow every year. The average snowfall is over 170 inches! There’s also 35 inches of rain that falls on this city on average every year, making it vitally important for residents to utilize Michigan doppler radar in their daily planning.
